Canine influenza has been a resident in New Jersey since the disease was first identified. We see sporadic outbreaks in dogs that are kenneled or gather indoors with numerous other dogs at shows and events. We do not support the routine vaccination for canine influenza. The recent outbreak in the Chicago area has alarmed many people. The belief is that this is a new strain and current vaccinations may not be protective. We will vaccinate upon request.
